Red is better for games Blue is better for typing. Red feels better in analog modes. Don't worry about typing errors because you can adjust the actuation point in wootility to suit your particular typing style. I switched from browns (tactile bump, but less click) to red with Wooting and I'm very happy with it.
This is my first time using brown switch before I choose brown switch I use cherry mx red switch. Blue will too clicky and noise maybe I don't know for sure but generally that is blue switch behaviour. If you gonna play game and may be type a lot I recommend brown switch you won't regret. 2. QuikQuack.
Cherry MX Silver (or speed) switches, on the other hand, are even more sensitive than Reds. It has a total travel of 3.4mm and an actuation point of 1.2mm. Again, you only need to press down halfway to activate the switch, but because the total travel is smaller than the Reds, you activate the key 0.8 mm sooner.
58g bottom-out. Progressive spring. 4.0mm travel. Clear top, opaque bottom, white stem. 3 Pin. Lubed with Krytox 205g0. Outemu Red: Was lubed but its mostly dried up now. It is better than Outemu red even when stock and sounds great when lubed. It is a pretty budget switch, $5 for 30 pcs $1.60 for 10 pcs (came from a chinese seller).
For gaming I generally prefer linear switches (Reds are linear switches and even Silent Reds if you need something a bit quieter) but typing on them is not as fun as some tactiles. MX Browns are a tactile switch but I generally found that they didn't give as much tactile feedback as I liked so there wasn't much of a point of buying a board with
50 million actuations. Kailh has Red and Black switches as Cherry MX. Overall, their smoothness and tactility are quite good, enough to please beginners who are not familiar with the mechanical keyboard world. Moreover, there are a lot of actuation-force options to choose from, ranging from very heavy to very light.
So the pretravel is defined by the length of the little stick coming out of the bottom of the switch engaging the light sensor. None of the tactile switches are supposed to make a "click" sound though. The only noise they should make, is when bottoming out / springing up. That's consistent with my brown experience.
